ROYAL PRIDE WEEKLY
September 15, 2023
Good Afternoon Royals Family!
This past Friday’s Senior Parent Liturgy was particularly poignant for me. Every year it is difficult for me to comprehend how three-plus years can go by so fast as to arrive at this milestone for our senior class and their families. I sincerely hope that every senior family was able to enjoy both the mass and the afternoon, with one another.
This coming week will be a little short as the MCP teaching staff, counselors, and administrative team is traveling to Monterey for our annual symposium with our fellow teachers from schools across our entire Diocese. We will celebrate mass together and also will have time to explore our respective experiences as Catholic educators. Students get to enjoy the day off from school but we will be back on campus, as normal on Tuesday.
As for our entire staff as we make our way into this school year, we remain blessed to be a part of our students’ lives on a daily basis. Adolescence is the time when young people begin to connect their early concept of their future-self with their present-self; when they begin to realize that becoming the person they want to become, may mean shedding some of those habits and distractions that won’t contribute to that future outcome. This is a hard lesson, but it is difficult to imagine a more beneficial one in terms of shaping them into the successful young adult they are called to be.
Thank you again for partnering with our community. For over one hundred years of Catholic education in our community, our faith and our determination remain as our stronghold. Have a blessed weekend.
Yours in Christ,
Mike Susank
Principal

Service Hours: Desserts Needed for the Auction
Here's a sweet way to get some service hours for students and parents! The auction is in need of 'gourmet' desserts for our famous "Dessert Run". If you make a yummy dessert - cake, brownies, parfaits, dessert bars, dipped strawberries, pies... we would love it! Fancy equals higher the bids!!! These can be homemade or purchased - but fancy is a must - presentation counts and do not plan on getting back your tray or display. Please click the link to sign up.
