Café Royale will be Open this Year!

Fresh Fare is thrilled to serve the students and families at MCP! If anyone has specific dietary restrictions or questions, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions to Kristen Schultz. 

The MCP Café Royale is cashless. This means the café staff will remain behind the window during service, and all of your student’s food will be handed to them. Additionally, in order to purchase food your family must have an account opened and in good standing.  We ask that accounts are loaded with at least $50 at a time.  To open an account, you simply have to send me money via Check (made out to Fresh Fare), PayPal [email protected] or Venmo (@Kristen-Schulz-4, last 4 digits #7103). If paying electronically, please put your child’s name in the Notes section and an email where you can be reached.

Here’s an idea of how the day-to-day action works: When the children come through the café line, they pick up the items that they’d like, then show me their items and I’ll say their name and total. “Smith, $5.50”. This is the sign that I’ve written down their total and they can move along. I write down their total spent at each visit through the line. So, if they get an item at break, I’ll write that separately from a lunch item.

At the end of the week, I add up the totals for each day, subtract it from the beginning balance for the week, and email you if the account is getting low, or has gone negative. I am unable to cut off kids when their accounts have hit zero. In order to do this, I would need to have a live electronic system, which I do not. For this reason, I need you to either be comfortable with your child getting a negative balance (which you will then pay off) or have your child track their own spending. If your child spends beyond their budget, you are still responsible for paying their negative balance. If you aren’t comfortable with this system, please tell your child they are not able to buy items from the café.

I announce their total when they come through the line, the menu is posted in three places in the café, listed in the announcements, and posted online under the Parents “Shop” tab on the MCP website.
