ROYAL PRIDE WEEKLY
June 9 2023
Good Afternoon Royals Family,
And just like that, summer is here!
In preparing my graduation remarks for the class of 2023 my mind traced the ebbs and flows of the past four years of school for our graduates. Much of that time period is punctuated with moments that we all might be tempted to forget, but I think it is only appropriate that we acknowledge the totality of any single year of high school (or of a four year high school career) with gratitude for both the successes and the challenges.
For those students who are moving on from the MCP community, especially the class of 2023, may God bless you and keep safe. It has been our pleasure to work in this ministry and we are so thankful to have been a part of your formation. My message to our graduates last Friday night affirmed our love and hope for these students and for the great things that will come from this amazing class.
As we all take a break from school for a couple of months I hope that each of us continues to appreciate the special opportunity that is afforded to us as members of this MCP community and that our returning students come back to campus in August, eager to resume this journey of formation and growth.
Yours in Christ,
Mike Susank
Principal

Join Us to Celebrate the Life of Kenneth “Pops” Krossa Sr.
The Krossa family wanted to invite all Royals, Alumni, and Alumni Parents who knew Kenneth “Pops” Krossa to his celebration of life and mass. All are welcome to come celebrate this amazing life!!
“Pops” lovingly served as the Mission College Prep Varsity Girls Assistant Basketball Coach from 2006 to 2015. In fact, the Girls Basketball team gave him the loving nickname of “Pops” and his wife Joie Krossa soon became known as “Mrs. Pops”. Even after he retired from coaching, Pops could be seen on campus supporting his son John Krossa and his 3 grandchildren - JT, Lani, and Cooper in all things Mission College Prep. He especially loved Mission College Prep Boys and Girls Basketball and would come support the Royals whenever possible.
You are invited celebrate his amazing life! Kenneth Dwight “Pops” Krossa Sr. funeral mass will be Thursday, July 13th at 11:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in San Luis Obispo, Ca with a reception afterwards in the parish hall. On Saturday, July 15th from 5pm to about 7:30 pm a Celebration of Life Party will be held at the Morro Bay Yacht Club @ 541 Embarcadero, Morro Bay, CA.
Please click the link to donate to the Kenneth "Pops" Krossa Sr. Scholarship Fund.

Summer Classes in Your Plans?
As we roll into May and the last few weeks of school, the Academics Department wants to touch base about taking classes over summer. There are three main reasons students may choose to take a class over the summer: for "enrichment," for "advancement," or for "remediation." In all cases, MCP asks that the linked form be completed and submitted for approval before students enroll in a course. Click the link to access this form and review the email sent from Ms. Foster on April 18th with more information. Question, email Ms. Foster at [email protected].

Outstanding Tuition Balances
It is Mission College Prep’s policy, as stated in the Parent and Student Handbook, which no student is permitted to sit for their final exams unless all tuition and fees are paid. The final exam in each course is a required component, so a student who does not sit for a final exam is in danger of rendering a semester grade of zero (F) for each course for which a final exam was not taken. In this current semester, final exams are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Please be advised that all student accounts must be current by 12 noon on May 23, or affected students will be contacted, informed of the situation, and will not be able to participate in their final exams until further notice. Once all student accounts are paid, all missed final exams will be re-scheduled for the student, but please be advised that the instructors are not obligated to grade any exam taken after June 2, 2023, until the instructor returns in August, 2023, potentially delaying an updated official transcript for several months. Also please be aware that anyone on Tuition Assistance for next year will lose their Tuition Assistance if they are not 100% caught up with this year’s tuition by June 30, 2023.
We understand family circumstances with regards to finances can change, especially during these difficult and uncertain times, so please contact me or Mrs. Carlesha Harris immediately if there are any further questions. If you would like to make a payment, please contact Mrs. Carlesha Harris in the Business Office at [email protected].
