ROYAL PRIDE WEEKLY
August 18, 2023
Good Afternoon Royals!
It truly was a wonderful start to the 2023-2024 school year and we could not be more pleased to have our students back on campus this week.
In addition to their amazing coursework, Fall sports are also already well-underway with Girls Golf, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball, and Football all beginning their competitions this week. Before we even enter into the second week of school, we will have already had two rallies, Picture Day, Freshmen Family Social, and the Welcome Back Dance. What a whirlwind!
We hope you all can catch your breath just a little bit this weekend and that our student community comes back next week ready for more. August is the rare month where Mass Dress will occur on two occasions. The first was Picture Day, but the next is coming up on Tuesday with the first All-School Mass of the year, the Mass of the Holy Spirit. MCP welcomes students of all faith backgrounds but please remember that we all attend Mass as a school community; and we sincerely appreciate your support from home in making sure our students always look wonderful for mass.
We have a full week of school ahead and our annual, senior Kairos retreat is just around the corner on August 28th. Thank you for your partnership in this extraordinary ministry and for trusting this team to provide your child’s high school education. It is going to be a truly exceptional year and we are eager to see the many blessings it will deliver.
Yours in Christ,
Mike Susank
Principal

Friday, August 18th - Campus will close at 4PM
Tomorrow, Friday, August 18th MCP will be hosting our first football games of the year at Spanos Stadium on the Cal Poly campus; starting with the JV contest at 4pm (Varsity at 7pm). The MCP Administrative team and many of the MCP staff will be in attendance at these games and for this reason the MCP Campus will be closed at 4pm tomorrow. School dismissal is at its normal time, 2:40pm. A small number of sports teams may be practicing after school tomorrow, and those will happen as scheduled, but the campus will be closed to students and visitors at 4pm, and all students are expected to be picked up by that time, unless they are finishing up with their sports team.
