ROYAL PRIDE WEEKLY
April 19, 2024
Good Afternoon Royals Family,
MCP’s culture is one of “care and accountability” that seeks to bring all students to “deeper life with God and deeper life with one another,” and this is a cause that we will never abandon. It is our hope that a constant message of love and hope provides the foundation for a life of faith, excellence, and service.
As you all are aware, that campus culture was shaken this week. I have endeavored to keep all members of our community well-informed about these events and I would ask anyone who is reading this for the first time in this newsletter, to reach out to me via email at [email protected] because somehow, I have missed you in my other email messages, yesterday and today. Email communication is a vital tool and I want to make sure that our path to all families is secure.
Even under normal conditions adolescence is a time of profound growth, and few things are more unsettling to the adolescent mind than feeling a sense of exclusion, isolation, or loss of control. What has happened this week, or any one of a number of circumstances in the life of our children may cause confusion or raise questions for our students. Please reach out to Jen Blomfield or Emily Lua, MCP’s Socio-Emotional counselors (or any staff member) if you have further questions or concerns about your student’s health and/or sense of connection.
I hope we all can be reminded, even through challenges, that we are an ‘Easter People.’ Easter Sunday marks only the beginning of a seven-week season to bask in the joy of Christ’s triumph over sin and death, in His Resurrection. Let us maintain that joy as the school year winds towards its close.
As always, if you have any concerns about any aspect of school, do not hesitate to reach out to me; please enjoy your weekend, and God Bless.
Yours in Christ,
Mike Susank
Principal

Two Royals, senior Luke Montoya, and junior Jake Long, both shot outstanding rounds of 70 (-2) to share medalist honors. The varsity team currently ranks fourth in the Mountain League.
Additionally, Luke Montoya secured the Mountain League Cup for individuals and was named Mountain League MVP, having won five of the six regular-season matches.
