Today we wish our Cross Country team good luck and fast feet as they compete at the CIF Sectionals in Fresno. Running are Patrick Thomas, Anthony Erikson, Cooper Krossa, Roman Benedetti, Ryan Kasper, Cole Jenkins, & Brody Miller for the boys; and Antonia Campos-Altermatt, Taylor LaFollette, and Isabella Nagorski for the girls. The boys run at 11:30 and girls at 12:30. The team will run against 150+ runners in division 4 for a chance to qualify for the State Championships race next week. Good luck team and GO ROYALS!

MCP football goes on the road for the first round of the Division II playoff bracket this afternoon against Lemoore High School. Football has had a historic season and we’re all rooting for our boys to continue that success against Lemoore. Last week against SLO High School, MCP beat SLO 35-7 to culminate a very special regular season. With that win, MCP football claimed the outright Ocean League title, beat SLO for the first time in school history, finished the regular season undefeated and clinched the highest and hardest playoff bracket in program history. MCP football is currently the highest-ranked team from the Central Coast in playoffs and is widely considered to be the best team period on the Central Coast this season. They have won their games by an average of 43 – 7, with 8 of the 9 games featuring defense giving fewer than 8 points.

JV Football finished up the season against SLO High School on Friday and finished the season with an 8-1 record and also won the JV Ocean League Title outright, blowing out almost every team they played this year. JV football dealt with a lot of extra adversity with some COVID contact tracing issues at the start of the year but they quickly rebounded to have one of the most successful JV seasons in school history.

MCP football has embodied their motto this year and has been “Uncommon” in every way. Congratulations to all and go get them tonight!

The Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on the 1st & 2nd of November. It is a celebration of life and death which families created 'offerings' to honor their departed. MCP's Spanish classes took part in creating an altar in the Mosaic Lobby to remember the dead.
