Every year the SLO Downtown Christmas Parade closes the streets around the MCP campus. The campus will close at 4pm Friday, December 2. Surrounding streets will also be affected, including the closure of the northbound Highway 101 offramp at Broad Street from 4 to 9 p.m. We recommended that you vacate the parking garage or nearby streets by 4pm to avoid your car being ‘trapped’ downtown until close to midnight. Come see the best in high school basketball at the 23rd Mission Prep Christmas Classic. This year’s tournament features teams from California, Alabama, and Washington. Add plans during your Christmas festivities to stop by MCP for the Christmas Classic December 17-21.

Please join us for the Parents Association Monthly Meeting & Christmas Party tomorrow, Friday, December 2nd from 8:00-9:45 AM in the Café Royale. Join in on the fun by wearing an Ugly Sweater and bring a $10 or less wrapped present for our famous gift exchange! We hope to see you there.

MCP's visual and performing arts department will be hosting a Christmas Concert & Art Show on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00PM in the MCP PAC. Student created artwork will be displayed and songs will be sung by our choir and music students. This event is free.

KRIS KRINGLE: Students' Kris Kringle starts this Thursday, December 1. Be the best Kringle giver ever!
On Thursday if you do not receive a present and you are participating in Kris Kringle, please let you’re period A teacher know. They will discreetly contact your giver to find out what’s up. If you forget your present for your person, make sure you send them an anonymous note to let them know you will make it up to them the next day and that way you can avoid the awkward discussion with your teacher.
The gift giving schedule is as follows:
Dec. 1st - 1st gift: ($5 gift) gift exchange during flex in your A period classroom
Dec. 2nd - 2nd gift: (homemade gift) Gift exchange during A period
Dec. 5th - ($5 gift) gift exchange in flex
Dec. 6th – Toys for Teens gift delivered to the gym A period: ($15-$20 gift). Getting a toy for a local teen in need is mandatory as this may be the only gift they receive this Christmas.
Dec. 7th - Conflict/Makeup Gift day
Dec. 9th - Final gift at Christmas Morning: ($20 gift)

The Mission College Prep Interact Club is heading an eyeglass drive between Monday, November 28 and Friday, December 2. We are teaming up with our sponsoring Rotary Club, Rotary de Tolosa, to “Help Give the Gift of Vision.”
