English Teacher (Full-Time Position)

Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is a diocesan secondary school serving 320 students and is located in San Luis Obispo, CA. MCP English teachers use a variety of techniques in the classroom, and are comfortable integrating technology into the curriculum. MCP uses CANVAS as our virtual classroom, so experience in CANVAS (or other online Learning Management Systems) is a requisite skill. The school expects candidates to have an ability to use differentiated instruction and have a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. Responsibilities for this position include collaboration and full participation in an English department to ensure excellent scope and sequence, and participation in a professional, Catholic school-wide learning community. The ideal candidate will have the following: a degree or advanced degree in English as well as a teaching credential in English/Language Arts; experience in teaching English; qualified to teach students in grades 9th through 12th; versed in academic areas including American Literature, World Literature, British Literature, and Contemporary Literature. The ideal candidate will also have experience with honors and AP courses.

Salary will be commensurate with a candidate’s experience, according to the faculty salary scale and based on a 190-day contract.
