Love SLO Rain Update

Fellow Lovers of SLO,

We can't believe we're sending this message for the second year in a row... but rain has found us once again. As much as we've been hoping the forecast would change for Saturday, the rain seems to be inevitable. So, we've come to the tough conclusion that mother nature has beat us again this year and we're going to have to make some changes. The goal of this day is to love our city in a big and beautiful way, we're going to do the best we can, read below for the update on all things Love SLO.

  • We are cancelling the 8:00am morning rally in the Mission Plaza before the service projects. It's hard to love our city if you're soaking wet, but read below on how to get your Love SLO t-shirt.
  • Unless you heard from your Project Leader earlier today letting you know your project is cancelled, all Love SLO projects are still happening on Saturday. A handful of projects needed to cancel due to the weather as they can't execute their project safely in the rain.
  • If you are serving on a project, please head directly to your project site at 9:00am unless otherwise instructed by your Project Leader.
  • If your project got cancelled and you still have a desire to serve, consider signing up for one of the "rain or shine" projects listed on our website.
  • We will have Love SLO shirts available for "drive-thru pick up" on Saturday morning. If you want to come get a shirt and see the Love SLO team, we will be at the front steps of Mission College Prep (682 Palm St, San Luis Obispo CA, 93401) from 8:00am-8:45am. Here's a map to help guide your way to t-shirt greatness.
The weather won the battle one more year, but our love for SLO will win the war. We plan to be back bigger and better in 2025 to meet needs, demonstrate kindness, and impact lives in San Luis Obispo. We can't express enough thanks for each and every one of you. Your partnership and love are what keep us moving forward. So, we'll miss you for the rally, be in touch about next year, and we can't wait to Love SLO with you once again!

Stay dry and serve well,
Chris Blake, Stephanie Buresh & the Love SLO Team
