"I credit my days at MCP for helping me build a foundation for my life: being responsible, respectful, and aware of the needs of people around me. I learned what it truly means to be a part of a community that cares. Mission helped to build that foundation that would put me on the track to establish a career in education."

Music and Theater

Music Performance is a thriving class at MCP, as well as becoming an initiative that attracts student musicians and provides them with opportunities to perform.  We have a true "pep band" and a choir, the MCP Chorale. Band members and student musicians support our school liturgies, as well as perform monthly in the Plaza at lunch. There are so many really cool things happening: rock and roll skills are being developed and enjoyed; students are developing their own teaching skills by sharing their developed talents with other students who are new to an instrument; students are expressing themselves through original composition utilizing our new MAC/music lab computers.

Here at MCP, we have watched our Drama Department flourish over the past 6 years. The historic gymnasium has been transformed to a fully functional theatre including a state of the art cyclorama, lighting system and grand drapes. Several fully produced musicals, dramas, and comedies with casts as large as 60 students have been seen by sold out crowds each year.  MCP partners with Old Mission School by allowing students to participate in the high school productions.
