Blythe Berg Wins Poetry Out Loud
February 8, 2012
Blythe Berg competed on Tuesday, February 7th at the County’s 6th annual Poetry Out Loud competition and took first place! Speaking with Kevin Clarke, an English professor at Cal Poly and a published poet, he said that this year’s competition had the strongest competitors that he’d yet judged and that Blythe was impressive in her understanding of her two poems and her ability to let the words speak through her.
We are so proud of her. She worked hard – and will work harder yet as we prepare for the state competition in Sacramento against the winners from all counties of California (March 25 and 26).
